The cogeneration process
This is how we produce clean energy
Cogeneration means producing two or more types of energy simultaneously. Although the most common energy sources are electricity and heat, it is also possible to produce mechanical energy through this process. In a conventional way, two sources of energy would be needed for both processes, however, with cogeneration, with the same energy source, we provide steam and electricity to the industrial process and we generate a surplus of electricity that we inject to the SENI.
The technology we have installed at our plant reduces fuel costs and helps solve waste disposal problems. In the following animated graphic, we explain how biomass is converted into renewable energy.
